| Priority Solutions secures C-TPAT designation |
|
Swedesboro, NJ March 27, 2008 - Priority Solutions International, a niche lead logistics provider (LLP) specializing in meeting the needs of the healthcare/pharmaceutical, government and airline industry, announced today that it has received Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism certification following a thorough inspection of Priority Solutions' processing facilities and operations. Post 9/11, the need to secure our nation's borders and international supply chains became inevitable. One of the many security trade initiatives that was created and developed by the Department of Homeland Security was the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, better known as C-TPAT. This voluntary program, carried out by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), was created in 2002, with a current membership of more than 7,000 companies that include importers, carriers and brokers. Companies that receive this validation show their commitment to ensuring the security of our U.S. borders and the continued facilitation of legitimate international trade. With expertise in complex, tightly-regulated, critical logistics services, Priority Solutions International is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of secure supply chains for its customers, many of whom are in the pharmaceutical industry. "Some of the program benefits include a faster cargo release by Customs, decreased examinations and decrease in cargo pilferage," said Paul Rodriguez, National Customs Broker for Priority Solutions International. "This program is now gaining greater recognition and acceptance where many importers are now making it their policy to ‘only' do business with other C-TPAT members as a condition of their supply chain best practice." Priority Solutions encourages its clients to also become C-TPAT certified as it benefits them with timely clearance. Consider this statement by R. Bonner, former commissioner of U.S. Customs & Border Protection: "Secured cargo shipments are inspected six times less frequently than of non-C-TPAT shipments." About C-TPATC-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security. C-TPAT recognizes that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can provide the highest level of cargo security only through close cooperation with the ultimate owners of the international supply chain such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers. Through this initiative, CBP is asking businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate and verify the security guidelines of their business partners within the supply chain. Priority Solutions International is proud to be a 3-PL C-TPAT member.About Priority Solutions InternationalPriority Solutions International is a leading global supply chain management company based in Traverse City, Michigan and Swedesboro, New Jersey.
